Over the years, I have learned that combining the old practice and new technologies is THE best way to do Email Marketing.



Whenever I send thousands of emails per instance, I make it appear that every email is personalized for each recipient. I spend significant amount of time formatting recipients information in excel so I can use them later for sending personalized email in batch. I use personal information like, salutation, full Name, professional citation, job title, company, address and even specific offer.



And to increase chances of getting to recipients inbox, I do the old fashion way of sending email using lots of text and very few images. I avoid using links and heavy images that are usually filtered by Email Clients as SPAM. . To measure email campaign performances, I use Outlook's receive and read receipts which I manually count to monitor the following: 

• Sent
• Received
• Read
• Bounced
